Unauthorized Trading

A broker executing transactions in a customer's account without the customer's permission and the broker has not been given discretionary authority, by the customer, to make such trades, is engaging in unauthorized trading.  To detect unauthorized trading, it is important to review your trade confirmations and monthly statements.  Did you authorize those purchases and sales?  Unauthorized trading can also exist, for example, if the broker accepts a trade from the husband of a customer (wife) on behalf of the customer, without any record or evidence of written trading authority granted to the husband.
